Using avocados in dessert recipes is a not so well guarded secret and when they are used in sweet treats they not only massively reduce the calorific content but also means that this recipe is totally vegan too!
Avocados used instead of egg yolk and cream in chocolate mousse is the cheats way of enjoying this classic dessert and we’ve even added in some matcha and mint; D-licious.
This super easy recipe only takes 3 steps and one of those is chilling – the mousse in the fridge and you watching a series on Netflix or something.
You will need:
300g dark chocolate (minimum 60% cocoa solids)
2 ripe avoados
2tbsp cocoa powder
3tsp matcha and mint
45ml almond milk
2tbsp agave syrup (to taste)
melt the chocolate in the microwave in short 15 second bursts or on a bain marie
place all your ingredients plus the avocado flesh and melted chocolate in the food processor ad whizz until smooth.
move the mousse to the fridge to set for two hours or overnight.
